the difference is that, the car will start easier in the cold weather with a 5W-30 then a 10W-30. the numbers represent the viscosity of the oil, the lower the number is cold weather start ability and the higher number s for warm weather.

I was thinking of trying Royal Purple because I have to have forthought to get amsoil(I can get it at whole sale+shipping costs, so thats what I've used in the past but I might change up for the convenience)

Mmmm... Amsoil at wholesale. I just did my oil today using royal purple and it was 5 quarts for $40.
I'm pretty bad when it comes to preordering things for my car. Even if I could get Amsoil at a discount, I'd most likely end up getting royal purple since I'm rediculously impatient and my time off is wildly unpredictable.
