*My opinion* We all pay for everything, we don't live in a free world.
Pc, internet, speakers; all that was bought to download and listen to music...
I, as millions don't pay for things so significant that we could get for free on the net. (Just using a little brain)
I get advice for free on here, and I know I could have bought a book and read it, but again.... why would I buy something I can get for free? Make the rich wealthier and the poor poorer.

Isramirez, like many of your generation, your logic is infantile.
You will regret that decision when there are no more artists (and it's already started, you just don't have enough appreciation of music to realize it), because THOSE are the PEOPLE (you know people, the ones you like stepping on) that *YOU* hurt when you take their only product. You are not hurting Sony Music, because they are huge and can hide their losses by paying wannabe "artists" even less money, because they all just want to be famous. You are not hurting these comp[anies, you are hurting the artists, because you are a greedy, selfish little cockroach. You contribute nothing.

I tend to agree with Gordo, but with about 90% less acrimony.
I have many friends that ARE artists. Rap, Rock, Gospel, and R&B artists. Some have been in the game for decades, some just trying to start out. FWIW, I have always paid for my music, but had different views on software. Somewhere along the line I realized that was being hypocritical. Musicians, software developers, IP owners deserve to get paid for their hard work. Even if that pay has to come through a large, faceless, multi-national corporation.
We haven't yet reached the Star-Trek utopia whereby salaries no longer exist and no one has to pay for anything (except on Fernginar, of course... Women MUST remain nekid, too, I can't wait to visit there); just belly up to the bar and ask for what you want. We ain't there so people ARE entitled to get paid for what their labors produce. No free lunches, YET! You wouldn't walk out of Piggly-Wigglys with an arm-load of unpaid for groceries, or drive off with your neighbors car simply because s/he left it unlocked, so why do you think its OK to steal 1's and 0's?
