Default Nikon D50 opinions.

Hey guys, just wanted to get your opinion on the D50. Have you ever used it? is it a practical entry SLR for a hobby (maybe more, my gf is huge on photography)? Too much? Not enough?

Is it user friendly? My gf's birthday is coming up and im really leaning towards it.

I was thinking of getting her the Sony DSC-H1, its an awesome camera thats exteremly user friendly with great quality pictures.

the cheapest new DSC-H1 is 330$, for 250$ more i can get the D50. I think it will be money well spent.

Would you recomend any other ones?

this is the D50.

Thank you!

Might I point you towards www.dcresource.com !!! The site kicks the ***...

http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/ni...ew/index.shtml

The D70... my little brother got to play with a D70 today, and he LOVED it... he currently uses a Canon Digital Rebel. He said the D70 was 1000x faster than his Rebel... so yeah, might want to consider it for the extra $$. But read both reviews. I just finished a psych assignment, and am too lazy to read 'em. Here's the link for the D70's review: (Note, this review is for the revised D70 's' )

cant spend more than 600$ and when i think about it, it hurts since that could be a borla setup for my car lol..

but yea my gf deserves it so i have to look past myself on this one. lol someone slap me.

Haha 'tis better to give than to receive! :P

Have you checked craigslist and other classifieds? Maybe you can get a used D70 or something... who knows. I really haven't checked the prices, but I doubt if you could even get a used one for 600...
I am sure the D50 is a stellar camera. Seriously though, try and find a used D50, too... cameras are something that you grow out of, so theres no sense in spending the new purchase price... when she'll want to upgrade in less than a year anyways. Ya know?

Yea i was looking towards a used one, but I dont know how well it has been treated. But then again most people who buy any of the D' series know what they are doing so im assuming they treat their cameras good.

lol.

ill look around, thanks!

I love my Rebel XT, but then again, I have never used any of the Nikon's. I'm saving up the money for a $1,600 lense that I want... OUCH... [:@]
