VW has got additional problems due to the state/local German gov't that sticks its nose into VW business, especially on matters of employment. Porsche's new stake in VW could drive more such moves towards efficiency.

yes master
Damn, I just fell in love with a girl I've never met. r0X0Rz.

If you're ever in Vegas and need a place to crash, a hook-up to get in the good clubs or maybe cars or jewelry, just look me up.

But the Maid Cafes sound cool. Vegas has chicks that dress up however you want or serve your food provocatively, but to get them to call you "master" is usually an extra $50 an hour.....

I would like to go back to Japan someday.

Ok, my turn.....

Money for Murder

But not for children. Read this quote from Pakistani cleric Muhammad Yousef Qureshi on his offer of a bounty of ÂŁ600,000/$1,000,000 (and a Toyota car) to whoever kills the impious Danish Mohammed cartoonist. "This is a unanimous decision by all imams of Islam that whoever insults the prophet deserves to be killed and whoever will take this insulting man to his end, will get this prize. This killing will enhance respect for Islam and for Muslims. Next time nobody will dare to commit blasphemy against our prophet." Four points here - one, killing anyone will never "enhance respect" for a religion or its followers. It will enhance fear, contempt and hatred maybe, but not respect. Two, this preacher has not been paying attention, there were twelve cartoonists, so perhaps he had better find some more cars and bounty money. Three, has he actually asked "all imams of Islam" for their opinions or is this bluster to bolster his murderous offer? I think we can safely say bluster. Four, has it not occurred to this devout man that his money would be better spent helping those in dire need, such as the Kashmir earthquake victims? Or is "respect" more important to him than the deaths of children?
One of the more ridiculous things I've seen lately, but to be totally honest, I'd whack the cartoonist(s) for a million. Wouldn't you? I don't think they should take the cartoon as such a grave insult, but I'd be happy to profit off of their religios fervor.

More crazy stuff.....

Speaking of people I'd like to shoot.....

5 States Consider Bans On Protests at Funerals
Proposals Aimed at Anti-Gay Demonstrations

By Kari Lydersen
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, January 30, 2006; Page A09

CHICAGO -- At least five Midwestern states are considering legislation to ban protests at funerals in response to demonstrations by the Rev. Fred Phelps and members of his Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church, who have been protesting at funerals of Iraq war casualties because they say the deaths are God's punishment for U.S. tolerance toward gays.

Though the soldiers were not gay, the protesters say the deaths, as well as Hurricane Katrina, recent mining disasters and other tragedies are God's signs of displeasure. They also protested at the memorial service for the 12 West Virginia miners who died in the Sago Mine.

"The families weren't able to bury their loved ones in peace," said Kansas state Sen. Jean Schodorf, who has proposed legislation. "We felt pretty strongly that we needed to do something about it."

Kansas already has a law banning demonstrations at funerals, but Schodorf said the existing law is vague and hard to enforce. The proposed bill would keep protesters 300 feet away from any funeral or memorial service and ban demonstrations within one hour before or two hours after a service.

Legislators in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Oklahoma are looking at similar bills. Proposed legislation in Indiana would keep protesters 500 feet from funerals, and make a violation a felony punishable by a three-year prison term and a $10,000 fine.

State Sen. Anita Bowser said she thinks the demonstrators are hoping to provoke a physical attack so they can file a lawsuit.

"These people are not gainfully employed, so they're waiting for someone to do battle with them so they can go to court and win," said Bowser. "They want a big liability case to pursue. I don't think they actually give a diddly wink about the arguments they're making, but they're clever individuals trying to make a fast buck."

Shirley Phelps-Roper, Phelps's daughter and an attorney for the church, said if legislation passes, the group will challenge it in court. "Whatever they do would be unconstitutional," she said. "These aren't private funerals; these are patriotic pep rallies. Our goal is to call America an abomination, to help the nation connect the dots. You turn this nation over to the **** and our soldiers come home in body bags."

A motorcycle group called the Patriot Guard, made up mostly of veterans, has started attending funerals to act as a buffer between the protesters and family members.

"They'll chant and make snide remarks, they have all these signs that say 'Thank God for dead soldiers,' 'Thank God for body bags,' " said Patriot Guard member Rich "Stretch" Strothman, a Wichita resident. "They'll throw the flag on the floor and wipe their feet on it. . . . We go under request from the families, we're not counter-protesters."

Ed Yohnka, communications director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, said the bills are troubling from a free speech perspective. "We have some concerns about the vagueness of the language," Yohnka said about the proposed Illinois bill. ". . . One of the things that concerns us very much is the degree to which the bill blocks access to people engaged in political expression on public sidewalks. We think a 300-foot bubble is excessive."
I I was burying a family member, and some religious nut came up and said "Thank God for body bags", ooooooooh, bad idea.

Vegas sounds warm about now. I was there a year or two ago, went to a La Femme show, that was worth the trip itself.

I understand the uproar a bit with the cartoons, but I think it would have been more insulting if a Muslim had been one of the 12 to depict Mohammed. I don’t understand how a certain religion can expect people of different faiths to follow the rules of another.

And with the extreme Christians calling a funeral a patriotic pep rally. Well of course it is at that point. How else could you deal with your son/daughter dying in war? If they died from cancer, drunk driver, hands of another, etc. it would surely be spoken about during the proceedings. Trying to make sense of it all is part of grieving.

Now the child witch story is just sad. Adults screwing each other up is one thing……
