Default Newbie Here Lookin for some input

Whats goin on everybody, my name is Tony and I'm from CT. Currently I owe a rare L-Tuned Lexus IS300 and will be selling it in the near future. As you can tell, since I'm on the Audi forum, I'm heavily favoring buying a Audi as my next car. The only prob is I'm in love with 3 Audis, one I sure as hell cant afford ( The R8, lol ) and then the 2 that I have no idea, which I rather have. First is the new S5, this car is unbelievable from what I've seen. My other option would be aused 08RS4 with very low mileage. I've actually been dreaming of owning the RS4, since it came out a few years ago. Then all of a sudden this year the S5 is out, and I'm like WHOA!!! I have no idea if this has already been discussed on this forum, but if you guys had to make a choice between a new S5 or a almost like new, butused 08 RS4, what would you go for and why ???

P.S- I still can't chooose between them...

You just made me realize that I probably couldn't decide between the two, either.

Probably leaning toward the S5, though.

I wish I had this same problem [:'(]

Since I've never driven either one, I really have no opinion...other than I hate you

Well, the RS 4 is *****-out fast and has the most awesome looks of any A4 model yet. But the S5 is pure sex, and nearly as fast. Honestly, I'd take either one and die happy. So drive both and buy whichever one you prefer!

I would get the sexy S5 and roll with till the b8 RS4 comes out in a year or two. The current RS4 is a great car but it'll be better on the new b8 platform, not to mention twin turbos on a v8*drool* Either way you can't go wrong.

I havent heard any news on the new RS4, what engine will be in it, or when it will be released.

Id take the RS4 because it has like 75 HP over the S5. The RS5 is supposto come with the biturbo v8, i doubt they would put it in a new Rs4 too.

I think it depends on your needs, if you need four doors, get the RS4, if you don't need 4 doors, then get the S5. Either way they both are sexy cars that I would happily put in my drive way.

so think about your needs. For me personally and my needs I'd get the RS4, well actually I'd get a B5 avant and build an RS4 avant but thats a different story.

I've heard much about the speculated RS5; however doesn't look like it will be for sale for another 18-24 months at a MINIMUM. So #1 not going to wait that long, and number 2, it will be probably be same price range or more like the brand new RS4's so I'd be looking at dishing out over 70k + and I don't plan on dishing out that much $$$. Around 55-65k is what I'm looking at spending. Since I live in CT, I've finally decided to stay away from the RWD vehicles. Rarely ever took out my Lex during the Winter in other words. So not gonna even consider the new C63 AMG nor the new M3. Must say though, I just love to death how my car is such a precise, smooth, fun drive...Soo gonna miss is when its gone... I just really hope the new Quattro isn't like my boys current car. He has a 04 A4 with the S4 package, great looking car; however its not exactly precise + smooth ride, because his car tends to be quite jumpy and I really don't like that. It doesn't matter to me whether it has 2 doors or 4, I just might come down to me test driving both, and looking at the overall package inside and out and go from there, but it definetlely sounds like my head will be spinning after that still...

Like the others said, you really can't go wrong with either one. I think you may find the RS4 tuned more aggressively suspension-wise (although it probably does have adjustable dampers). On another note, why not look for a used RS6 with the paddle-shifted V10? You might find one in the price range you're quoting, and that'd be a hell of a car too.

RS6 had a bi turbo V8 and the NEW one has a biturbo v10.

s6 has a v10, not as much of a "sports car" as the other 2
