Getting it out isnt really a problem, I have done that before. Its the guts I'm wonderin about. Think I could borrow your dad? Oh well, we will see how it goes. Worst case, I try it, screw it up, then buy a new one.
im just going to tell you right now, DONT mess anything up! lol
it has to be right, if you dont know what a valve body is, or check ball, clutch packs, ect, then dont do it, seriously,
if you want to be cheap, i bet you can get a used tranny from the J yar ( im sorry im going there) for like 600$ most likely, whatever you decide ill be here to help you, if you need it, just hit me up

yeah we've done a few....the first one is the scariest. I always said that there were only 2 things I'd pay someone to do on my cars, rebuild auto tranny's and set up axle Ring and Pinion gears.

Well, that went out the window and we redid a tranny, wasn't as bad as you think it would be, so i guess now i need to try a R&P........

yeah everyone keeps telling me they are easy, i dont know why i find them so intimidating.
motor?-no prob
tranny?-no problem
brakes/suspension?-no prob
metal work? (structural not body work)-no problem

Ring and pinion? scares me.*shrugs* we have all the tools we need, and nothing in the how-to seems terribly difficult, so the next time we need to regear something, i'll probably give it a go......cant learn if you never try, right?

omg, i love rear ends, lol

okay, that sounded wrong
but i have set up only 3 carriers in my life, and I loved doing it!

cept this one time...

lol stupid mustang, it was my 00 vert GT
and the carrier pin was about to literally fall out of the caseing! So I bought a brand new Eaton locker, and put it in
okay, seriously, this it my biggest mistake ever!
the damn splines on the carrier, were for 31 spline axles!
i had 28! omg, what a frickin reality check! the axle just spun when i put it in, before i even messed with it, iknew it, that
carrier was soo beefy anyways. i really wanted it. (would have fit in my 05)
so needless to say, i had to take it all apart, and put the old one back in, till the next day when the parts place was open again.
i eneded up putting an auburn locker in,

okay, maybe i like the diff work the best lol

plus, i threw in a 4.10:1 gear ratio... talk about torque! awww, now i miss my stang

yeah most of my experience comes from 4x4's...this was my last project:

88 2wd 1 ton GMC puickup.
Custom Solid front axle swap. (no bolt in kit here)
dana 60 front w 4.56 and a detroit tru-trac limited slip
GM 14bolt full-float rear, shaved, 4.56 with detroit no-spin locker.
TBI 350, 700R4 Auto tranny, NP241 t-case (ugh..)
Frame shortened 2 feet, Wheelbase shortened to 116"
42" Super swamper TSL's
Mustang GT buckets,
rear shackle flip with 93 1/2 ton springs
custom short flatbed, (never actually finished the floor)
owner installed sunroof.
Cut front fenders...ummmm other stuff too, just cant remember now.

Never actually finished it all the way, i sold it to my buddy for spare parts when i moved to NYC last year.

*hijack off*
