Default new tires...Nexen N3000s

so yesterday when i removed my wheels to do the brakes i found a big *** air bubble on the inner sidewall of my front tire....they're getting pretty bald, and i have a few vendors at work here that can get me pretty good deals, so i figured i'd see what i can get while i'm still here (my last day is tomorrow!)...i can get a set of Nexen N3000s for about 75 bucks a tire (225/45-17). i've never heard of them before but from all the reviews i've read online they're really good tires...i'm gonna get a set, mostly because the price is right. so i'll let you guys know how i like em

yea i've been reading a lot of reviews and everyone likes em so far..i have yet to find a bad review of them...keep in mind these aren't supposed to be top of the line, they're more of a middle ground tire...from what i've read they're really big in asia, but they've just been brought to the US a few months ago..

I think I've seen them on ebay before... and cheaper than 300, too. Maybe it'd end up being more after shipping, but I think they sell for 250 for a set of 4 on ebay.

yea, i saw some for really cheap on ebay...the place i'm getting from is giving me a warranty though and the price includes mounting, balancing, etc...i should be on the road in a few hours, i'll post a review after the weekend....oh and this weekend i'm going out to santa cruz, so i'll be really testing the performance of these things on highway 17...for those that are not local, highway 17 is one of the most fun highways to drive...ever. check it out on google maps...almost all of the turns are banked too

ok it's been about a month and at this point i would recommend these tires to anyone and everyone looking for a good set of tires for less than $100/tire....awesome performance, they grip extremely well even taking them to the limits of the car...and they're quieter than the michelin pilots i had before, especially at high speeds...i put a ton of miles on my car driving all over the place so i'll post again in a few months on the treadwear...but overall, these are excellent tires. and i don't mean they're a good tire for the price, i mean these are excellent tires. period.

what about wet-weather grip? I've gotta do tires, fromnt brakes (finally gonna put them stainless-steel lines on, I think), oil, and my diapers, all in the next week or two. Canya post a pic of teh tread-pattern, too? PURTY-puh-leeeeeze?

sorry, no wet weather reviews as of yet...being in the bay area, it'll probably be a while before i can test them in the rain, but as soon as i do i'll update this thread again....the tread pattern is pretty aggressive..

How about you just ZOOM/SPEED through a couple of car-washes, and tell us how they handle the sharp turn after you come out?
