+1. Short and to the point. However, I've always liked #1 as well, especially the way he delivered it. And it has meaning too because he meant it and it was deadly serious. The war would have been quite different if the French had someone like this instead of Vichyswish types.

 

Don't forget that the US has also had some great speakers. Who can forget JFK in Berlin? "Ich bein ein berliner!" which of course reassured the crowd by announcing - "I am a jelly doughnut!"
