thanks for the comments guys and indeed I feel very lucky to have found her and cant believe how good the condition is ( as tray25 says they are a beautiful ageless and appealing motor ), the Renault that's next doors bag of nails I wouldn't have it given to me

car coming along nicely, tee cut the paint still lots more times required.

new exhaust fitted- had to modify to the 8 valve system due to the standard system not being made any more but the bonus is more HP because there is only one resonator box and its in line and will save me many££££ later on.

new gas struts to front, cleaned the alloys and painted everything inside the wheel arch mat black except the calipers which are fire red, a total pig of a job, ongoing

I could have done it in a couple of hours but there was a family meet not my favorite thing ( sodding kids and all ) so I cheated

see thats where we differ... we add computers to old audis to make them much more tuneable, but i guess its nice to not have to mess with them

actually its the opposite I can tune my car more than you because your car is controlled by a computer that's why I like the old babies

but see we run custom standalone systems that lets us tune every aspect of the motor, fuel, timing, boost, injector pulse length, adj FPR, and many many other areas, so i think i got ya beat man

you need a computer to set it up I need a good ear and I can put anything on there that you can and tune it by hand, beat that

I dunno man, i dont think you can control all that while driving the car and tuning for best performance, you have to pull over and do it, or have a wee lil mokey under the hood thats trained very well, and i know you cant change things like injector pulse width and a few other things becasue with a computer is the only way...
