My son, the engineer
So my 5-year old son, a creative and adventurous young man, has been bugging me for weeks about getting him a grappling hook or some type of lasso so he can get a rope around a tree limb and climb up it (thank you, Batman). After patiently and politely putting him off for many days by saying things like, "Er, I don't have any rope handy, dude," he finally cornered me at my mom's house this weekend. String, check. Stick, check. Willing accomplice, check.
Well, the tree limb was a little high, so he decided to go for the fence. I was chatting with my family and turned around to find that he had to improvise the whole climbing thing, and went for the leverage approach. The result:
I hate to say it, but I'm afraid I may have a future Darwin Award winner on my hands.
