Alright folks. I have an idea that seems workable and people seem to like it. My problem is getting it out to a person who can actually implement it.

Here it is: Problem 1. A depletion of natural resources.
Problem 2. Landfills (they aren't actually going to take over to world, they just aren't very cool)
Problem 3. Prisons are only good for making better criminals, they need to perform a useful activity and at the same time be more unpleasant.

Solution: Truck ALL garbage to prisons where the convicts work 12 hour shifts on a disassembly line. Every useful item gets recycled instead of wasted, prisons become financially self sufficient and can pay their guards a wage which would be high enough to prevent corruption and an honest enforcement of the rules.

I'm sure there would be details to work out but I think the idea is solid.

 

I like it.. but that's a huge change. It's also probably very flawed..

It takes a much bigger plan than that to be taken seriously.

 

That would actually be great lol. Promote recycling, save some of the environment, and give criminals one more reason to avoid prison haha. Really should be done lol.

 

only problem is criminals sifting through our trash and finding objects that can be used agasint inmates or worst yet finacial information that can be used against us. What woul dbe better is sending all the criminals to deforested areas and making them plant new trees. All day long in the hot hot sun.

Shanks against each other? So what, fewer cons to watch.

Reading our private info? Shred your stuff. You should anyway. And what are cons going to do with it anyway? No computers or phones, and they have to strip down to walk off the line at the end of their shift.
I want this to happen.

they will find a way to use it against u. Cons are some of the smartest yet dumbest people out there. When u got all the time in the world u will think of a way to use info agasint u wether it be sending it to the outside world and taking money from your credit to pay bail or whatever.

 

^^ Agreed. When you have time on your hands your minds gets very inventive.

The idea makes sense - back in the days where being in prison was not a badge of honor - they use to do alot of things constructive to society.

Curious if this might be feasable on different levels...
