Default My $50 paint project results!

Theres a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thread on moparts using rustoleum and brightside paint to paint your vehicle for $50 bucks. The thread has lots of people posting progress and finished pics of their projects. I started mine about jan. Ive been practicing on my hood. Ive gone through a lot to get to these results

Hood shot
2nd hood shot

I used rustoleum for the hood. it has 8 coats and used 600g 800g and 1000g per 2 coats. lots of work if you just started but once you get the process down, it should be pretty easy.

Yeah I saw this "$50 paint job" thread on Honda Tech too. I think it's amazing.

I don't know how it would hold up as far as looks, but I mean you would be coating your car with rust inhibitor.

How did you get it smooth? Just sanding it? We were gonna try it on the last truck I painted, but didn't have the time to do as much sanding as we figured it might take, so we just sprayed it, but I want to roll my car.

Yeah, I think a lot of wet sanding is what it takes.

yep a real good wet sand is the key. incase you didnt know, when you wet sand, you have to wetsand to get rid of all the shiny-ness from the surface.
