please help. dealer has this cabriolet. 7000 miles. the free carfax I found listed 3 owners, oct 04, feb 05, may 05. asking 49,900 (auto)
i know they wont tell me the real story, but why would someone give up a car like that so quickly. is there something i should specifically look for or ask about? should i ask to take it to a car wash to check the roof for leaks? price is a bit under retail (kbb) which is odd for this dealer. i figure this is the closest ill ever get to the 06 rs4 so i want to make this happen. second problem is convincing my husband that i NEED this car. (i have a car problem. heehee) look to you all for advise.

assume everyone is lying to you, and every car on the lot is a lemon, this looks sketchy.

 

100% agreed with what was said above. There are more fish in the sea, find another car out there. I would always have a mechanic check out any used car I would buy, but the situation you described just puts up a red light as it is.
