Motorcycle Riders out there?

RE: Motorcycle Riders out there?
i used to ride, haven't in a couple years now...my last bike (and my first real street bike) was a GSXR600...it got stolen out of my driveway and i haven't gotten a new one yet...probably won't for a few years...i convinced myself that it was a good thing it got stolen..i owned it for about 2 years and almost killed myself on it at least a 5-6 times...got my first bike when i was about 11 and rode non stop until i was 20 or so...i still have a couple old toys i play with from time to time but i decided i'm just not mature enough for another street bike right now...
people don't really understand how powerful bikes are..check out these power to weight ratios (which is really what it all comes down to when it comes to speed/acceleration):
2001 Honda Civic: 18lbs/HP
2001 Lamborghini Diablo: 5.3lbs/HP
2001 Suzuki GSXR1000: 4.0lbs/HP
pretty insane if you ask me...

OH YEA, another 01 TLR rider here! Well, almost stopped being one on Wednesday. Double gravel truck bout took me out. He was trying to avoid ramming stopped traffic in front, swerved left into my lane, saw me, slammed on the brakes and swerved back right. Well, momemtum being what it is, the back trailer tires actually came OFF the ground as it's still coming left towards me.
That slow motion effect as stuff happens was weird, I remember watching the guy yanking on that steering wheel in his mirrors as the trailer came towards me. Luckily, I was on the bike, saw it coming and was able to slow down and hug the left side of the lane giving him room. If I was in my car, I would have got tagged.
