No - it's good until the last 5 mins...
But here's my thing - if fvcked up that he didn't deserve to have that happen to him. I know happy endings don't always happen - but that end was just f'd up.
Here's how I see it - either the ending gets interrupted as one of those creatures gets killed. And they all live through the ordeal.
Or the ending ends as it does - with him screaming and the camera pans back so you get a shot of the mist engulfing 50% of the planet.
Either of those two endings would have worked for me.

RE: The Mist
havent seen this yet but im going to check it out soon.
however, it has been my experience that with steven king stuff- you read the book and its awesome, and then you see the movie translation and it sucks.
that has been the case with almost every king book-to-movie translation, with the exceptions being IMO "christine" and "the shining"
"the stand" and "it" were great fictional books, but the movies were long, drawn out, and just plain sucked.
hope the mist is good. =)

RE: The Mist
honestly, The Mist is a great movie. Coming fromFrank Darabont, who directed both "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank Remdemption" - two of the best movies of all times and both from Stephen King as well - what can you expect?
It's just the ending... [&o]
Christine was good
The Shining was good as well
but I will agree - most King adaptations rarely convert to film well...

RE: The Mist
I loved the film! One of the first movies I really got into emotionally (This year, other than a couple!).. Especially that religious bitch. When that era was ended I gleamed with happiness!
+1 Way worth seeing!
