Default Milk it or wait it out?

I I bought this sexy yellow A4 mainly because I have a complete coverage warranty on it currently until next December (06).

I can't renew it for another year until then.

I currently have (previous owner) had $2080 worth of claims on the car. I called the Warranty guys up, and they will not renew if more than $3k is claimed on the vehicle.

I need to have some seals replaced and a headlight switch as of right now. Quote was around $1800.

Sooo, do I milk it for the next year like none other, or do I wait it out and renew a year from now?

I would wait it out and renew, provided you plan on owning the car for another 5 years or more. Think about it, a lot less is going to go wrong with the car in the next year than in the 4 years following that.

If you plan on selling or trading in the car in a year or less, get everything done under warranty that you possibly can, and keep records of it being done, which might help resale/trade-in value.

Well the car is going to be around for another 2-3 years. If I renew the warranty, it will most likely only be for another year, possibly two.

Hmm.

The renewal is like $1200 for another year but it does include anything. I know I've certainly gotten my moneys worth so far. The only deal is the $3k cap if Ihad hope of renewing it the next year.
