The quattro system has been wonderful for me ad has allowed me to confidently get anywhere in the winter months of cincinnati

Yes, a B5
5. Which B5 engine is better in your opinion?(please support your answer)
how do you define best? Most modable - 2.7t, most reliable - 12v V6, most accessible- 1.8t, all the engines have pros and cons and i don't think I could decide on one engine to settle as the best overall, but if I had to it would be the 2.7t for it ability to put down huge numbers and the fact it comes in the RS4
6. Is your car modified? How so?
Not yet, but it will be going through some changes in the summer hopefully
7. Do you think Audi deserves the stereotype of being unreliable?
No, I belive Audi deserves the stereotype of having a higher regular maintenance cost than other comparable brands (that are not of German Decent)
8. Describe your experience on the track with your Audi compared to other cars.

Both. Why, Audi is a great commuter car that has a lot of souland which is gaining in looks, performance with it's new models. BMW has the most amazing handleing cars on the road as long as you get an old one, so Audi for new car/dd/track beast with a URQuattro, and BMW for track beast/ corner killer with a Pre new design and electronic influence car

I think the best B5 engine is the 2.7T, but I didn't have that option due to $...I bought a 1.8T, because I read that the engines were built very well, and when taken care of could last a very long time, and because the 1.8T is a mod friendly motor.

my car has a different upper and lower grill from an RS4, it has Euro S4 headlights, RS4 replica wheels (18x8.5"), custom intake/heatshield, a couple 10" subwoofers in the trunk, stratmosphere Short shifter, momo shift ****, SS boost guage, clear sidemarkers, tint all the way around, sirius satellite radio

not at all, my ten year old car is probably one of the most reliable around

how do you like tiptronic? do you use it?...if I had it I would
and you can ask wether or not we do our own work...how often do you change your oil?...I usually always do my own work, unless the problem is undiagnosable...plus I don't have a nice lift like the shops do...I plan on doing my own mods....like fmic, K04, tip, may weld in my own exhaust (I just need to borrow a welder), hfc....and so on....I change my oil every 2,500-3K....I am terrified of the rumored sludge!

Passion, design & style,quality.

I dont get stuck in snow, and God knows we have snow up here. Slippery roads. Bad weather. Quattro hepls a lot in any of those conditions.

1.8T for the possibility to modify as im pleased. Tuning is the factor that makes me think this is a better option. To be able to do somthing different and unique with the availble aftermarket parts.

Absolutly not. Even if im not an owner of an audi for a long time, i dont think Audi is unreliable. Every make has his pros/cons. This car is high maintenance(like most luxury cars), everybody knows, if the car was so unreliable, why ppl love those cars so much and keep on buying them?

Liked the body style of the A4 when I bought it, and liked the quattro.

Never been stuck getting up my parents steep icy/snowy driveway in the winter.
All the style of a luxury car with the grip/traction of an AWD truck. (I almost bought a Jeep back then.)

Love the 1.8t, I'm guessing your asking 1.8t/2.0T vs 2.8/3.0? Cause there is also 2.7TT, 4.2, etc...
I have driven the 4.2 in the A8 on a test drive and that was nice too, but that car had a drinking problem (gas).

Yes. I bought my first (a 2000 A4) in November of 2003, and now have a 2004, which I purchased in August of 2007.
2. What about Audi's cars made you choose them instead of other companies?
All wheel drive was a prerequisite when I was car shopping... and I had already been exposed to my dads old 1996 A4, which I loved. German cars were clearly superior, and Audi has a stranglehold on the AWD market (at least for the German segment).
3. What has your experience been with the quattro system?
Blissful. When it's not inspiring ridiculous amounts of confidence when playing in a parking lot, it's just making me feel safer than everybody else on the road.
4. Do you own an A4? If so, B5, B6, B7, or B8?
Yes. Currently a B6.
5. Which B5 engine is better in your opinion?(please support your answer)
The 1.8T is best for me, hands down. Chipping it makes more power than the V6, while using less fuel. I can deal with slighty higher revs and a bit more noise. Both the 12v and 30v 2.8's are beautiful motors, though.
6. Is your car modified? How so?
The B6 is an Ultrasport, so it's almost stock. Milltek exhaust, B&M short shifter, and 18" BBS RX winter wheels with Nokian snow tires.
7. Do you think Audi deserves the stereotype of being unreliable?
Kind of. They've made a lot of mistakes, and I hold them responsible for ignoring them. The leatherette, for example, is complete garbage... they must have known shortly after starting to use it in 97, but did not get rid of it until 2004. Lame. While no Audi/VW has ever left us stranded (us being my family, we've 5 vag-family cars), they do have a lot of annoying quirks and problems at times. Oh, and I'm sure people who don't keep a spare coilpack in their trunk HAVE been left stranded by their beloved A4. For trouble-free ownership, I always suggest a Japanese car to anybody asking. For a car that's a joy to drive, at the expense of some problems every now and again, I will recommend Audi.

i knew they were good cars and i really liked how they look and happened to get lucky and find one cheap enough

i just depends on what you want out of it. mine is the 2.8 and its decently fast and reliable but the 1.8T has alot more potential for being fast just because of the mods it can support. so i would say if i had to choose id get the 1.8T

8. Describe your experience on the track with your Audi compared to other cars.
the only track my audis been to is a 1/8 mile drag strip. it got low 10's on bold tires and beat a 1995-9? civic Si and a 2000ish mustang both with a few mods along with some other cars. i would say it did pretty well for being stock
9. BMW or Audi? Why?
AUDI! not that i dont like BMW i just like the style of audi a little bit better and although mine right now doesnt have quattro i will get on that does so thats a plus

2. What about Audi's cars made you choose them instead of other companies?
i knew they were good cars and i really liked how they look and happened to get lucky and find one cheap enough

my audis fwd but ive driven my friends a4 with quattro and i could definitely feel a difference.. the handling in either is awesome
4. Do you own an A4? If so, B5, B6, B7, or B8?
i have a 98 B5
5. Which B5 engine is better in your opinion?(please support your answer)
i just depends on what you want out of it. mine is the 2.8 and its decently fast and reliable but the 1.8T has alot more potential for being fast just because of the mods it can support. so i would say if i had to choose id get the 1.8T
6. Is your car modified? How so?
just a Brullen exhaust
7. Do you think Audi deserves the stereotype of being unreliable?
only if all the other cars get that stereotype too

Yes. I've owned my current one for 14 months. I had a B5 A4 for less than 4 months back in 2001/2002, when I had to sell it to pay taxes... long (but fun) story.

1.8t vs. 2.8? I'd choose the 1.8t, because it has much more modding potential than the 2.8.

No. If you take care of your car, it will last a long time. This applies to every manufacturer, not just Audi.

I got a chance to take an S5 out on the track for a couple of laps at Sears Point (Audi Driving Experience). Excellent handling. Gotta love the quattro. I think I found my next car... lol

Audi all the way! BMW doesn't have quattro. Besides, I never liked the interior of BMW's.
