I would take the BMW.
Ultimatley you would have to decide if you want handeling, or straight line performance.
Oh yeah, my car is 11 years old has 191,xxx miles on the clock and runs just fine. It all comes down to how well they are taken care of.

just curious... maybe he could look into one of the old body style M-Coupes... lots of power, great handling, and although somewhat ugly, it is very unique. Not sure how they run price wise.
but hey, i'm one of those weird A4 Avant guys, so I obviously like to be a little different right??
and i agree with Amze, i'm a bit skeptical about purchasing a car with more than 100k. you just never can be sure. its best to be patient, think about it and wait for that perfect car to come around. in reference to either of those cars, neither of them excite me enough to jump out of my chair and count my pennies. there's always something better out there for the money, just be patient and research it.
