Default Lost my car key

So I lost my car key to my 2000 S4.

I lost the key right around my apartment or at the laundromat across the street from my apartment. So naturally I am really paranoid that someone has found it and all they need to do is walk the street pressing the unlock button, which wouldn't be very hard seeing as that it is an audi key, and I have the only audi on my street.

So I am just wondering what the best thing would be for me to do. I am currently using a spare key but I am stil really paranoid every night that someone is going to steal my car.

Is it possible to have all the locks changed on my car? I would then also need to have the ignition changed as well?

I just dont have any clue as to what the best plan of action would be in this case.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advanced.

Scratch that. Put a killswitch in it somewhere so you have to flip a switch to be able to turn the car on. I'm pretty sure there's something somewhere about it. Search the forums for killswitch

that seems like a bandaid solution. i think some aftermarket car alarms have a killswitch.

Cool.

Thanks for the ideas. The kill switch definitely sounds like a good idea.

It may be just a temporary fix but it will buy you some more time to figure out what you're going to do an it's nice to have.

I yank the fuel pump and headlight fuses every night.

Just keeps my mind at ease.

Pullin the fuses seems like a good temp solution... Until you can install something like one of these:

Or, find your missing key
