Nah! He meant Scooby. Play on Subie (pronounced soobee), short for Subaru, rhymes with Scooby-Doo, hence the Scooby.

They dint teach metaphors, in yor high school?

reliability - buy a late 90s civic, accord... sentra even..

I know youre question asks between one of the two.. but not sure I would choose either for
your application... "college student needs reliable low maintenance DD"

Wagons are more aerodynamic because they don't have those nasty C-pillars. They slope off more smoother toward the back.

The issue here is money, and no, I don't want a 90's civic. I owned a civic once and never again.

well if its money than its the sooby, because it will be cheaper to buy and maintain, but if you want something nice and comfortable which will get you attention(good kind like girls and rich people)get the audi.

Sadly, thats what I was thinking. I did find an A4, but it's a little out of my price range. I'll be going to the Scooby dealership tomorrow to see if I can negotiate some sweet deal.

neither car is particularly reliable...if reliability is your main concern, get a japanese car of some kind(infinitis and acuras are a good compromise without going civic-cheap)....if you want something you can build and put a lot of money into, go with the subaru....if you want a nice, mild daily driver that will be somewhat reliable but still look & drive good, get the audi (assuming you can afford the car and the inevitable maintenance)

No. Wagons don't slope, they're big boxes. RX-7s slope. Supras slope. Vettes and Astons and Ferraris slope. Wagons have horrible aerodynamics because the back doesn't slope at all, it goes all the way out to the end and then just stops at the top of the back window. I don't know what marketing press release you're reading to think that wagons are aerodynamic in any way, but wagons are the antithesis of aerodynamics. Google some good reading on the subject and you'll see what I'm talking about.

^^^I was thinking about getting me Mum one (used, of course, I'm not THAT rich... YET!!!)

Anything I shud know about maintance & such? I'll most likely be the wrench of record for this. I fount a couple decent looking onnes on AutoTrader, for under $5K, higher mileage, of course, but, in all my travels, across 3 continents, 20-some-odd countries, and about 30-35 states, I can't recall ever seeing one broken down by the side of the road.

Is there a SAAB forum I can lurk in, somewhere?
