Ah, .300 WinMag....
My personal favorite...
It's an Accuracy International AWM (Arctic Warfare Magnum) model, available in .338 Lapua, .300 WinMag, and for a while, 7mm Remington Magnum.

I'm still wanting one of these though . . .
A Fiddy. Only way to fly. You know you can pick that up at most gun stores for $1200?

What, you going on a moose hunt? Yeah, a .338 mag will get the job done for sure, with a lot of recoil and a bigger mess..
Barrett .50? Hmm.. Now you can really reach out and touch someone..
But 1200 bucks??! C'mon, where?? Or are we talking about a single shot clone .50?

.300 WinMag is ok, I love the crack it makes, you can tell anytime one of those goes off, it's unmistakable. But it's usable range it really 200-700 yards, which is fine for police sniping, but for real field work you need the .338's 1200 yard range, though it is the definition of overkill under 500 yards.

Well, a clone 50 still shoots the same BMG round as a genuine Barrett. That one is called a BFG-50 (no point for guessing what BFG stands for), and it is single shot or detachable 5 rnd. I've played with that one a few times. It's crazy alright.

Hey, I've got no problem with a well made .50 BMG shooter for 1200 bucks!! I have a close circle of friends, and Barretts are in our collection. Fortuneatly, tha rural county where I have a small ranch has no problem with shooting. Ammo can be a bitch sometimes, but found a place in Washington where I'm getting a good deal on .50 BMG standard, AP. and phosphorous rounds.. As low as 65 cents..
