Just tested a 2000 S4...
And I am a bit disappointed. Maybe the car had clutch and shifter issues but it all felt very loose and short.
I never really wailed on it because it wasnt warmed up... maybe next time. Its weird, I felt the regular A4 was more
refined... like the clutch on the regular A4 has a nice feel to it while the S4 is its either on the floor or an inch above it... I felt like I was going to stall it. The shifter didnt feel crisp either... it had the same stalk as mine but shorter shifts. Also, maybe it
was because 1st and Reverse were close together but shifting was very loose. It had a slight wooble to it. Also, Im
not a huge fan of the white gauge needles... like I love how Audi was smart and made everything red (since our eyes
are less sensitive to that color, thus its easier to see at night without distracting) but there is this burst of white.
Aside from that... I want the S4 seats!! They were pretty dope!
I tested this car at the Dodge dealership across the street from Lazono's on El Camino. It was bright yellow. I liked
how the guy was trying to tempt me by telling me there were other people looking at it... I told him I wasnt interested
at all in the car itself, only driving it... this was after I drove it. His reply "At least you were honest"
Thinking back on it.. I could have beat the ever living **** out of it... he never once asked for my Drivers License.
Maybe Im crazy... somebody, please defend the S4. I may need to test drive another one.

RE: Just tested a 2000 S4...
ive driven about 6 or 7 different S4 twin turbo, some automatic some manual. To be honest, all of them drove awesome. The clutch was smooth like on my A4, pulled very strong. Only thing i didnt like was one S4 had about 110,000 miles. The brake light was flashing, the ABS light was on, and it need some new control arms. But even with that going on it still drove smooth, turbos spooled up strong. I love the white needles. I love the S4 twin turbo, def my next car

sounds like the one u drove wasnt 100% the shifter shouldnt be loose at all. try another test drive dude, u wont be disappointed. dont be scurred to redline it either. the 2.7T engine is a beast in any car, and the accel keeps u in ur seat. i fucked my buddy's neck up when i popped the clutch, he didnt kno it was gonna whiplash that bad. dont let 1 speak for em all, the handling, the speed, everything, its complete, altho its kinda small, its still a crazy little car.

Heh... I guess I shouldnt, especially since its a test drive. The engine wasnt fully warm and I know it was modded... I didnt want to **** anything up. Who knows, I might go back and get the guys hopes up... test drive it again and beat the living **** out of it.
Probably not, though....

ask the dealer if you can see how it pulls.. when your driving it.. they are going to say yes.. because if they dont just start to turnaround.. and they will see that they are about to loose a sale.. then its all on them.. for letting you drive a defective car
