so I was friggin excited as hell about GTA 4, reserved my copy months ago and picked it up at midnight. I drive home and on my 360 to take out COD4 and put in GTA4. And take a wild guess what I saw. The red ring of death, b4 i even got to play. I am waiting for the coffin and just hear that it may take 3 weeks, or 3 months (according to a friend). So i played with Photoshop and here's what I made.

 

^^^you have to manually go in and change your tag from [IMG] and [/IMG] to:
[IMG] and [/IMG]

hahahanewbie jackass, anyway i feel for you dude i have seen the red rings of death twice now and yes it takes forever.

 

yeah thats why i bought mine at costco! had it for a like8 months got the ring of death at school came home for a weekend brought it back and got the halo 3 edition( green and orange xbox green controller halo 3 edition controller limited edition halo 3 and a walkthrough guide) for $40 so yeah costco is amazing with electronics!

 

This red ring of death you 360 guys get sounds like a bunch of BS. Did you get a warranty when you bought it? If you did skip MS altogether. Does anyone know how that is caused? I'd be livid.

 

i don't know why it happens, but the dumb thing is that I haven't even had it for a year cuz i waited to buy it until it stopped having the new system *issues*. 7 months later, i am waiting on a coffin. i get a warrenty extension and a month of xbox live gold, so it's not all bad i guess. I think MS has to repair them whether under warrenty or not, cuz it might as well have been a recall like the hard drive wiping itself out

 

I don't know what causes it but I do know microsoft extended it's warranty to 3 or 5 years to get ti replacved for free if you get the rings. Yeah it sucks butat least they take car of it for free, also if you have a warranty through another place like circuit city or cosco they will just replace it for free as well.
