Default Jeep cam!!!!***********VIDS******************

well i got bored one day, and i took my old mitsubish monteros prop rod holder, 10 mil bolt, nissan altima valve cover washer, and nut an bolt and a large washer and made the "jeep cam" as i like to call it, im sure theres equipment for that, but this was free....

i also made a sample vid. ill upload sometime

you can see where it clamps to my 91 YJ's winsheild rest.

and where i bolted it to the camera, where the tripod noremally screws in

all i needed was a 9/16 wrench to install it on my jeep

and it doesnt look half bad

Nice! I should make Audicam. Did a little wheeling myself last night but the Quattro got high-centered. Sport package = no ground clearance.

Hah nice YJ! I've got a lifted ZJ for off-pavement duty myself...4.5" Rubicon Express on 32" BFGs

That camera's going to take a beating, but if it's a beater camera, who cares?

you can soften/bend plexiglass with one of those hair dryer lookin paint strippers. next DIY needs to be a stone/splash guard to fit around the camera. i need to do the same for my camera... just haven't got to it

^i need to get me some plexiglass for that. but for now, i use a plastic bag and rubber bands, works ok. plus all the mud trails are flooded by the iver. so theres no mudding for me, just wood trecking and crawlin.

BTW I LOVE that ZJ, where you get your tires? i need some, highway tires SUCK, especially for an AMC 2.5l 4 cyl

Here's my old Jeep. Had to sell it when I moved to VT. Not that I ran it much anyway, but it was fun to play with in the field behind the house.

And here's the way overpriced suction cup camera mount I stupidly bought back in the day.

i'd rather have the free camera mount too. suction cups can let go without warning, hence, the tether. Doesn't mean your camera doesn't get banged around. I usually use it inside the car, stuck to the glass.

I miss that Jeep, people respected that Jeep, or rather, feared it. People always gave a pretty wide berth around me on the road, and if someone was going too slow, and i got on their bumper (cars usually only saw my grille/license plate), they'd pull right over and let me past.

That green paint was put on with a brush.
