Audis are too low... atleast i know that i can almost get my hand under my car hahah no where near the cats.
wonder if audi thought of this ahead of time. the bolts are only accessible from the bottom, not the top, so even if they popped the hood, they would need to jack up your car

Apparently they are targeting the Tacomas because you actually UNBOLT them, as opposed to cutting. Was talking to a claims rep who mentioned they had 3 claims recently of cat thefts. I asked if any of them were Tacomas. ....2 out of the 3.

easy to make it harder to steal... spot-weld teh bolts. you can alwaystorch the bolts off if *you* hafta replace teh cats. Not 100% secure, but you'd be safe from thethiefs too cheap to invest in a sawz-all

We had a rash of these last weekend. Mostly foreign make trucks. Hit the local mall, hospital and car lots.

my local junkyard contact told me that there is ppl who pay up to 250$ per cat. depending on the model of the car.

When i took my cat. out to make a straight pipe car, my brother has the good idea to throw this at the garbage.

You say lucky, I say I want to kill someone. I have been trying to remove it for the past 4 hours and I just have the turbo to cat bolts off. I have no idea how to take the 3 on the other end off.

yeah, I sold 3 old cats (planned to hollow them out to make custom exhausts) that i had from various cars firebird,malibu... I only got $18 each, cause they were "aftermarket" with not as much platinum in them.Better than nothing. And back then, aluminumwas about $0.50/lb,last time when i brought in my old control arms and radiatorAl wasonly getting$0.22/lb - so that blowed -wished I had done my control arms 4 months ago.

they dont need the whole thing. They just hack the fat part off with a sawzall.

They dont have to seperate anything. Metal recyclers will pay for the whole thing.
