I work at a BMW dealership and we had an X3 come in for routine maintenance. It sounded like a Honda Civic or even a Kawasaki dirt bike. After the tech threw it on the lift, he said that it looked like someone had taken a hacksaw to the car but only cut halfway. I pretty sure that someone was trying to steal the cat but gave up or something.

i tried cutting my cat out when i was installing my test pipe. its damn near impossible

Yea I heard that on the news that all of a sudden cats were gettin hacked off. Took a while for people to realize they had expensive metals. Never tried to saw mine off...Illinois cops can detect that a mile away. But they don't enforce it on civics, or so it seems [:@]

yea i will be removing my rear cats shortly loooks like i can pay for the new electric dumps with my Precious metals. hahahah but this will also be done when the tranny and/or motor is out.

They had a piece on the news about that happenning in NorCal, but it looks like the thieves here are targeting 4Runners and Tacomas. Looks like our Audis will be safe.

Audis are too low... atleast i know that i can almost get my hand under my car hahah no where near the cats.
