I don't know... That RS4 is pretty overpriced. You would think they would keep that car closer to the range of the younger crowd with a little less than a million in the bank. I'd rather get the 03 RS6 for the price of the new RS4.

Personally I think that the RS is way underpowered... I know you guys are going to hate me for saying something bad about it.. I love the car.. but think it should have a lot more power than that
I'm with you guys also on this. Everyone is comparing it to the M3???

A 4-door AWD sedan with 414hp V8 for 80K with....
A 2-door RWD coupe with 333hp I6 for 50K.

80K... that is M5 territory.

The M3 is a 10K premium over the 330.
The C55 is a 12K premium over the C350.

The RS4 is a 30K+ premium over the 3.2 B7!!!!!!

I still love the car to bits though and would have one in a heartbeat given the chance, but I just don't understand Audi's pricing strategy on this?

I thought the new M5 was going to be $100K+, but I could be wrong.

I thought there is a different manufacturing process/location for RS vehicles, where they are put together by hand and by a different workforce at GmbH. I think they are charging a premium for that. Again, it could be something else.

I feel its slightly underpowerd aswell. If i were to pay for something like that, i would want a faster car, and more hp.

well imagine if it was underrated like the 2.0T... or if you chipped it what it would be.. damn can you even fathom what modding a car like that could do!!!!!!!

From RS thread - http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/ecu_upgrade_rs6.html

That's 520hp from a chipped 2003 RS6. I don't know if that is more mods than just the chip. Imagine where you could go after that.

Maybe if it was a turbo model you might see nice gains, but aren't N/A chips usually in the range of +10-15hp?

the new RS is a NA V8, so no more magic with an ecu chip

Bummer. I guess the 2003 is looking better all the time.

Who knows? In 18mo they will probably produce a turbo kit for the new model.
