All I can say is after my drive to the hotel this evening, I appreciate my A4 a WHOLE lot more, and trust me, I didnt think that was possible.

Anyway, Avis stuck me in an automatic ford focus. What a horrible car.

On a side note, Is there anyone in the Denver area that would be up for some drinks or something? I'm gonna be in town doing some Professional services on Thurs and Fri so I'm looking for something to do after they are done.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I read a story online a long time ago (actually, it was a scanned article I think) about these guys who jerry-rigged a nitrous system into a rental neon. The idea was to trash a rental car, and cover their tracks by taking out the system when they returned the car.

 

i know a guy who juiced a rental car for a couple weeks...i've had a few rental cars that i've trashed pretty badly, and no one has ever said anything when i return them...one of them we shot up with a few paintball guns, pretty much covered the entire car in paint...it screwed up the clear coat and stained all the plastic pieces (door handles, trim, etc)...returned it with no questions asked...

 

My friend had a rental car for a month while they figured out if his truck was repairable after his wife wrecked it. I hated going anywhere with him because he had to drive this stupid tiny Toyota Echo. That was probably the crapiest car I've ever ridden in. Should have tuned it!

I love getting rental cars in Europe. BMW's, Audi's, Mercedes. A crappy rental here is an Alfa. It will still cruise at 120-130mph. Alot more fun than taking my truck on a long trip.
