electrical tape is the bandage of choice for most tradesmen.
FYI, super glue works really well too. I get sheetmetal cuts quite often, and if they're deep enough to bleed (have to get thru a lot of calloused skin), I'll glue the cuts closed again.

 

Thats right.....don't you just love it !!! Also if it doesn't want to stay closed by itself so you can glue it....staples work good enough until the glue dries.

probably someones fingers and the monster from starwars of Dune, or any number of other worm creature, or they made the mouth themselves, IDK for sure.
