RE: hurricane
Watching the coverage slowly coming in now, the devestation is widespread. Gulfport was destroyed, along with most of the Gulf Coast in that area, and New Orleans is apparently 80% under water, with no electricity, no access, no food, and no supplies. The aftermath was alot worse than initially thought from yesterday.
My prayers go out to anyone effected by this, especially those on the board.

RE: hurricane
that really sucks for them, they just showed a pic of a lake front proprtys with lots of sail boats and yauts and stuff. It looked like abunch of dirt had washed up under the docks, like a couple acers untile I got a better look. All of that was lumber from houses on the other side of the lake. prob like around 1000 homes to make that much lumber. pretty sad.

Fellas I'm from New Orleans and most of my family made it out before the city gave the mandatory evacuation order. I'm sadden because I learned not all of my relatives made it out.
My family lives in the Metro area which is totally submerged, were talkin water up to the roofs. And on top of that 2 major levees just collapsed pouring more water in from Lake Ponchatrain. The most scary footage I noticed was broadcasted on Foxnews which showed a neighborhood I used to live in during the 70's, there was 1 landmark that stood out which enabled me to recognized that neighborhood. I'm stunned, and sadly I still have an aunt that lives in that area, and I'm hoping she made it out. I've been trying to contact relatives but to no avail. So I'll keep trying til I reach someone!

hey man i hope they made it out ok too...i still haven't heard from my aunt and uncle either. most of the power is out over there and cell phones aren't working well with the lack of cell sites. But it's gotta be hard to see everything you worked for financially get destroyed by mother nature.

suite 3.0-
how did your trip from the NO go during the voluntary evac. ????? i left there attempting to drop my sister off at Tulane for her freshman year, and the school told us to just drop her things and leave.
the evacution system that they have out there IMO, could possibly be the reason that a lot of people didn't make it out. we were trying to get back to houston and we were detoured so much that we nearly ended up in mississippi!!!! luckely a cop showed us some backroads to baton rouge and we were able to go from there. 15 HOURS for a 5 hour trip [sm=headbang.gif] not fun, but at least we made it. hope everythitng is Ok w/ your family.
