Keep in mind I have only been driving for about 1 and a half years.

2001 Audi A4 1.8TQM - paid like $16k I think
1987 Volkswagen Jetta 2-door - paid $200 (almost dead, for sale locally for $200)
1973 Ford Maverick 302 - paid $1800

Soon to buy to replace Jetta (might sell the maverick too, not sure)
1992-95 Civic Si hatch for NASA Honda Challenge

1987 Honda Accord LXi - $400. Had it for 1 year. There was so much rust I could open the rear hatch and stand in/through it. It had been in a small front end collision and the hood didn't latch. 3 bungee cords and it would hold at 65mph. Tire blow out on the highway led it to become the next wannabe General Lee.

1990 Nissan Pathfinder - Ran like a champ. Had it for about 3 years. Another vehicle with some rust issues. replaced some minor parts before I sold it to my old roommate. He promptly drove it into the ground. Then the timing belt broke. A valve made it out the exhaust and ended up in the cat. One rod went through the block and another through the oil pan.

2000 Audi A4 1.8t quattro - Still going! Currently has a GT2871R eliminator with a bunch of other goodies. Currently working on a GT3076R project.

You win. Either you have a serious obsession with cars, you are a dealer, or you are, like 100 years old. These are the only ways I can see that someone could possibly own that many cars.

LOL Hey, not trying to win anything.
You are right about (one of)my obsessions. I've been collecting cars sinceI was 14, so that's over 40 years. Never been a dealer, just a trader. Done lots of swaps. Remember, some of them come from the days where $100 cars were common.I've been lucky to have the space and good insurance (USAA) for the better part of that. The most I had at one time was twelve, I've averaged probably six to eightat a time. They've tended to pile up in the last ten years, 'cause I like them all too much tolet any go.
100 years is still a LONG way off..

May we all live to be 100.

Saw a serious collector on one of the big auction shows on ESPN 2. It was a repeat from last year, but they had a guy on there with over 800 cars. He had a staff whose only job was to start and run the cars once a week. Given what the guy was buying, I want that job!

No, sheet! Now that would be a job, taking care of a rare, exotic car collection...

1979 VW rabbit diesel 4dr - Was REALLY young and never put oil in it and blew a connecting rod out the side of the motor at a red light and still drove it home 1/8 mile down road before all collant ran out and died on hill.

1980 VW rabbit 4dr

1981 VW rabbit 4dr traded for and 83 blk VW gti.

1983 VW rabbit Gti Black race suspension Neuspeed chip FUN car.

1986 VW Scirocco Race suspension fell asleep at wheel and cracked the sub frame so i use a piece of steel bed frame "was super steel could barly cut it with a 32,000 rpm cutting wheel" tied a chain around the wheels to squeese the a-arms back to gether and took the bolts out the bront of the a-arms and put the bar in and bolted back together and actually stiffened the body a great deal along with the race frt&rear sways and upper stress. Ahhhh the wonderful memories in that car.

1990 VW Corrado G60 Race suspention, chip cone filter, FPR, exghaust, cam, and my favorite i had the SC rebuilt with the intake and exghaust sides opened as well as opened the air passages on the inside and with a 52mm pulley pushing 19psi. and I rebuilt the motor. SOOOOO much fun but got to be to expensive for gas so i sold it for 4500 []

1992 Saab 900s POS still runs kinda. I still use it as a hauler of anything i can fit in the trunk.

2005.5 A4 2.0T FWD - First car i ever bought brand new with 150mi on it and now has 55,xxx on it
