actually, the better rule is, with "European" words/names, teh 2nd vowel is the one pronounced. Therefore the "HI" in Heineken means that the "I" comes second, assuming you remember that there are two vowels at the beginning...

People please. When you say how American beer is crap please clarify that you are referring to the major breweries... Bud, Coors, Michelob, etc.
There are literally hundreds of microbreweries in the states now that make some wonderful suds. Just a few faves off the top of my head... Anchor Steam, Sierra Nevada, Shiner, Lagunitas, Dogfish, New Belgium, Duff. Literally too many to mention.
Please don't lump them all in with 'American beer sucks'! Support your local hophead!!
