Help me out with a new Bike!

Didn't ask: What size would you need? (or what is your height/inseam?)
Not sure of size, but here is a bike I'd rock for sure:

I'm a total Cannondale fanboy. See below.

Thanks headshok, I'll check craigslist and ebay. Just from an image search, it does look like a great bike, and I'd LOVE to have some disc brakes!
Ghetto, you are soooo ghetto... I have been arrested before, but it's been like 10 years.

Haha yes, the username makes me sound like a freak -- unless you get it. :P
6 feet tall would put you on a large frame, most times. That's 18" or bigger, usually... though most manufactures have switched to S, M, L, XL etc (as measuring the effective seat-tube length is hard, with wacky geometry and crazy frame designs).
I'm 5'11", and could ride a large, but I choose to go medium... I like to throw the bike around a little. :P
So yeah, 26" would be a wheel measurement, and yeah, you definitely want 26". 29'er is a fad, and 24" is a junior bike.
So 26" wheels, L frame (or 18.5 - 20" frame)... and I stress, shop used.
That specialized looks like it'd be around 300, but it has a ton of cheap parts. Buy used for the same money, and you'll get a way nicer ride. Seriously, go back 8-10 years... lots of them pop up in pristine shape (decade old impulse buys).
And no titanium with a 300 dollar budget! Haha, I saw that mentioned ^^^. It'd be a piece of crap, and you'd break it in a week.

Oh, and that bike I sent you would fit you. Thudbuster seatpost is a nice touch, too.
It's not a stellar deal, but it looks like it has been updated with some fresh components (rear derailleur and crankset look newer than the rest). XT/LX is high end stuff, too... spec'd on bikes costing $1000+.
Offer him 300 shipped, or something less if you can pick it up. Shipping that thing within USA would be around 50, so 300 shipped or 250 picked up. He should go for it.
