Help! I crashed my s4 =[
Ok I was driving on some back roads yesterday and I was going a little over the speed limit and I went over a sharp dip in the road and bottomed out my car. Now there is transmission fluid leaking out of the bottom. Can anybody tell me if this is something I can replace myself? Or, if I have to get it worked on how much should I expect to pay? Does it need to go to an audi dealer? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. It's a 2001 b5 s4 with tiptronic transmission.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! I live in DE but thank you to the offer. I could put a claim in for insurance but the thing is I've put a claim in recently for something else that was my fault so I guess I'll just have to weigh the cost of insurance premiums increasing vs. taking it in to the shop

Yep - and if you bottomed out you likely have evidence to that effect (scrapes and such) and may be denied the claim. Further, if your agent is a dick, he may jack your rates, thinking your driving style makes you a risk. I have no idea if this will happen, but think of it as a devil's-advocate idea...

if its jsut the oild pan why not just get a new oil pan and the gasket kit and what not, blauparts has the kit complete with teh audi recommened ATF. dont get me wrong if the tranny shot and you have insurance take that route but if its just leaking fluid and a hole int eh tranny pan, just replace it.
