if you're going to do this, try to eat at least 30 grams or protein worth of cottage cheese. I went for 50 when I was doing this, but that's a personal preference.

achTTung (and anyone else that's lactose intolerant), proceed with caution here unless your bathroom is close to your bed.
Ive never heard of that, makes sense tho i guess, i might give it a try.

So, whats the difference between eating the cottage cheese and drinking milk? since milk contains both casein and whey? and arent all protein powders, like whey isolates, derived from milk (powder) anyways?

the nutritionist here on campus told me i should steer clear of any protein powders because i drink enough milk as it is, and its just overkill. even tho i still drink a whey isolate shake after every workout.

thanks for the info.
I'll have to give that cytocarb stuff a shot. I'm already a meat and potatoes guy (eat steak like, every night). Hopefully the cyto stuff can give me the little extra I need to overpower my metabolism.

Heres my baseline. 5'7" 115lbs. Lets see where I can be in a month...

yeah I'm in for the poker tourney

no I'm not a trainer, but I've been lifting for long enough that I could be. I worked in a sports nutrition store for 2.5 years and got pretty into the whole nutrition, supplements, and fitness world. I'm just here to drop some (hopefully) helpful knowledge.

but yeah man, beer, bbq, and poker sound good for the 28th. I'm in.

I think the cottage cheese should take longer to break down since it's kind of a solid. your body has to break down some more bonds before it can use the raw components of that cheese, whereas milk should be readily digestible since it's a liquid. this is just speculation, but it makes sense to me. either way, getting that casein from some source (dairy or otherwise) is very helpful in gaining muscle and weight in general.

I don't know if I agree with your nutritionist, but he/she probably knows more about this than I do. I personally wouldn't cut out the protein powder, but that's up to you. how much milk are you drinking by the way?

good **** man. steak, potatoes and some extra carbs should make a difference. make sure you're getting good sleep too. the fastest ways to lose weight are to stop eating and stop sleeping, so overloading your body with carbs (in a sense, don't over do it) and getting good sleep should help you out. keep us updated man.

moderation is key indeed. if u woulda seen me last year booob5 u wouldnt barely recognize me.

im still a little hefty still - but definitely getting results.

i'll have to hit u up at Dougs & chat a bit... Im not lifting as much as i was 6 months ago - focusing more on cardio... my goal is just to lean out & lose weight...

but I'll hit u up then.
