two days before I usually balance my checking account, I go to the bank to deposit a couple checks and lo and behold, my balance is only $120 after depositing $314. Turns out I overdrafted my account by $118 plus $76 in fees. I'm so pissed too, because I could have sworn I had $400 or so in there... now I have to check and see if I got double charged for anything, or if any deposits never made it in.

I've got overdraft protection now, but I'm still pissed.

 

i feel your pain... up until the 22nd of may i had 1,150 in my checking accnt, then a 1,300 check (that was written a month earlier) was cashed, sending me into -150. then all the little debit charges i made to subway, the atm, and liquor store (i'm a college student) from the past month hit the 24th. each $8 debit i had ended up coming with a $31 overdraft charge, 20 overdrafts later (of mostly $10 of less), cost me $600, by the time i caught onto this i was at -$750 [:@]

 

Heh, Canadian exchange rates fucked me... My bank dosn't charge over draft fee's tho, so it's all good...

Yep, the charges are all legitimate too. It's hard to imagine how $20 here and here adds up (not to mention $330 for my shotgun). I have $120... I need to come up with $748 by the end of the month. As it stands, I can get $400 working. My parents owe me $75 for car stuff, and my friend owes me $60, but I doubt I'll ever be able to collect on that. Thats why I hate loaning money to friends.

I need $153 to make my deadline... I think I can manage to borrow that from a friend or pawn my watch (ouch)

 

Now that I'm adding it all up, I should be able to make my $748 payment. By the end of the month, my buddy will most likely have gotten off his *** and gotten me working demolition which will pay me $80 per day, cash. Two weeks of that full time and I would be able to pull $800 out of my ***. I also didn't take into account the cash in my pockets and the change in my coin jar, so I could muster up enough to hustle some poker games.

I'm mostly pissed that this means no more tobacco. I've got almost a whole pack of smokes, but I have about a week's worth of chew.

talk to your bank... a lot of the time you can probably get your charges cut in half if you have multiple charges in a row.

 

only thing I like about banks is I make a profit due to my savings but that's it
