Yup, definatly get a new tire. Any place you go to for your tires will advice you to get a new tire for sure. What did you run over?

there was a jagged edge to the end of a curb or something and it punctured the sidewall as I turned out of a parking lot.

Most places try to sell you road hazard insurace when you buy tires. Check your receipt... you may have it on there. You could get a free tire out of it.

very low profile tyres are deemed to this problem ( you get what you pay for ) unfortunately its a fact on low profile tyres just stay away from curbs

mine aren't low profile, i might of scratched my rim and got away with no flat if i was on 18's with lo-pro's or something. but im on stock 16's with 205-55's so i had plenty of sidewall to stab [:'(]

I work at a tire store. The reason you can't repair it is that the sidewalls only have one layer ofnylon belts unlike the middle that has three layers of steel belts. The sidewall isn't as stong as the middle, so once a couple of the belts have been severed (a small puncture will do this) when you drive at high speeds and the tire heats up the others will begin to fail. so it will just fall apart on the highway. fun. fun.
