2001 mustang GT, crashed it and fixed it, sold it. Would still have it if not for insurance going up.

How much more insurance is a mustang GT vs a A4 2.8? The difference between my 2000 audi and say... my vette, camaro, or trans am... wasnt anything crazy. I'd assume the 2.8 is more to insure than a 1.8T

actually i found this weird to the 1.8T is 30 less per every 6 months than the 2.8. I think it is because of more ppl crashing the more common 1.8T than teh 2.8. Not sure tho
The mustang would be 2050 a year
my a4 is 1600 (or around that not sure exact) a year

so less than 40 bucks a month diff made you sell the stang?

the 1.8T is cheaper for several reasons... less hp, smaller displacement, far cheaper initial cost.

That Mirada could have a 360 small block mopar. If he just went and bought a crate motor he could have 380 hp,and 410 foot pounds of torque. Remember that is the starting point. I'm sure he is far beyond that. That is if he stayed with a small block. You know the "hemi" every one seems to be talking about. If they can fit one a real hemi in an "a" body chrysler they can shoe horn one in there. In stock trim, from the factory a 68 Hemi barracuda/hemi dart could run a real 10 secound 1/4 mile.

my entire drive line came out of a 69 cuda...its a 347 (340 +.030) cammed, but when i bought the motor, i coudl only afford emission pistons..so those went in, with 360SP ported and polished heads mopar 528 lift cam, roller rockers, edelbrock air gap intake 800cfm proform race carb with Bg bowls...410 gears right now, but the 456s have arrived and are in the box in storage with the car. fiberglass hood and trunk, electric fans, electric water pump, 3100 stall convertor, msd7AL ignition with a 6500 chip...flowtech headers through 3.5 inch flowmaster supercomp race mufflers...it tips the track scales at about 3700lbs with me in it, and next to no fuel. i have been running the engine untouched for about 5 years and the valve springs consistant 12.60s in a 3900lb car on 87 octane with DOTs and mufflers...it made for a healthy little daily driver until i moved away. i dont have room to keep it now, so my dad is racing it for now, once he gets the new bearings, springs, double roller chain, and gears in, and i have acquired a Zex kit, but i may hold off on that...ive been in mopar muscle magazine, mopar collectors guide, and the chrysler classics national series program from the entire season last year. we are expecting that with the gears and a new set of hoosiers that i will get into the low 12s...i know the bottle i have with the 75 shot would likely get me into the high 11s..if not better...but i dont want to burn nitrous in a block that was built in 1969.

oh, and i paid 500 bucks for the car, less than 500 for the paint supplies, and maybe 3g for all of the driveline components...we have estimated that i have less than 5 grand in the car, running in the mid to low 12s NA...PA inspection legal...and while i dont give much crdit to them, a computer dyno program stated my car somewhere around 500hp at the crank...once the new springs and whatnot are in, he will get it to the dyno...

and no one ever knows what it is, or what it will do until they watch me drive away on the track...
