Yeah, there is a more simplistic version that came before this... its pretty fun..

Just when I think I've figured out how to get enough hit pts spread around....things go to hell.

Funny thing though. I finally got past level 42 (the one with the billion littl kids getting blown away. Then the game eneded. I still had 14 lives. Is this right? How did you get 74,000 points? I only had 8 or 9,000!

Same thing happened to me. I finally figured ot the right balance and it cut me off after level 39. I had a ton of cash and was ready for whatever they could throw at me. My score was only around 24,000. I thought I was going to take down sooks high score.

Well thats the end... but its lvl 39 not 42.
Your score is soemthing like your gold + buildings worth... approx. might have a sleight weight on buildings im not sure.
So basically you need to maximize your gold like said before.. You do that by minimizing what your building for each level so you can earn interest on that money in the bank. I think most are underestimating how much of an effect compound interest has. particularly early on.
if you saved 10g on the first lvl and used interest only upgrades the whole way. (10 * (1.1)^7) = 19.48.. (19.48 * (1.15)^ 7) = 51.82 ... 51.82 * 1.2 ^7 = 185.68 ... *1.25^7 = 885.39 * 1.3^7 = 5555.69 * 1.35^3= 13,669.08 dollars by the end.
Pretty stunning eh? thats the difference in buying an extra cannon at the beginning.
