You got to get the high end ones, expect to spend around $100.

I've been using them for years, & my GF just got me a new Norleco, it is the best one yet. Yes, they work well, but you have to use them for a while to have your face get used to them.

The down side is there harder to keep your sideburns straight (the trimmers don't work so well), so you still need to use a razor there, or if you let you face hair grow for a while, it can be a PITA for the electric.

But if I'm getting ready for a date, & really want a smooth face, I'll pull out the razor.

I can't use electrics. Even with my Mach 3 I have a 5 o'clock shadow by noon. I also get it smooth as silk on a mink coat.

If you go electric go braun, especially since the parts are replaceable.

I just use a regular Gillette razors that I can toss when they get dull and rough on the skin. Might upgrade to a Mach 3. [&:]

Had a Braun for a while. It was nice and worked well for when I had a shaved head (upstairs not downstairs). The batteries finally went to hell so I got a $90 Norelco, one that has the three blades per head. Took some getting used to, since it is different from the Braun. Replacement blades cost $40 though and you gotta change them eventually. I need to right now, since on Friday I got a nic and it wouldn't stop bleeding. Had to go to the bar with an f'ing Band-Aid on my neck. Overall I'm happy with it, even though I think my Braun shaved closer with less effort.

Funny side story. The first electric shaver I had was eaten my my dog when he was a puppy. He ate anything electronic - Two remotes and I don't know how many video tapes. Stupid Animal.
