Default efficent front bumper

for a twin turbo car, would a setup on the bumper like this be efficent? big holes on each side of the bumper letting better airflow into the turbos and IC's?

click

if so, i photochopped somethin cuz im obviously bored, wat are the thoughts on somethin like this?

You don't necessarily need two separate air intakes just because it's a twin turbo. Also depends on your air ducting, etc.
Also, you need to account for a big steel bar behind the bumper cover called the reinforcement. You can have gaps or holes in it, but air intakes as large as you're showing could be problematic.

problematic in what sense? they arent terribly big, they are just the stock intake grill x2

most porsches have nice sized holes like that in the bumper, what type of problems should they be running into??

I don't like the look of it too much but aside from that, the problems that I can see are similar to Karguys, in that the structural integrity of the bumber... & i'm not talking when your doing 60 on the freeway. I mean when your really winding it up. It may have weak spots. You definitely don't need to have 2 holes cos it's a twin turbo. but it would look kinda weird with just one.

You could probably find an aftermarket bumper for what your after.

Just keep in mind that the B5 bumper allows more than enough air to flow through the engine bay on most modded cars. I think anyway. (The one with the 2 side grilles & 1 big centre grille)

Just my two cents.

okay, i see what u guys mean. but what if those 2 holes where actually 2 IC's.. it would be like havin 2 FMIC's, but smaller. what types of problems would i have with that setup?

2 FMIC? Would help with the filling the gaping holes & would reduce some of the turbulence issues. I still think it COULD possibly make you car a little unstable at high speed & it would certainly increase your drag though & reduce efficiency. Needless to say .... the more things you have.... the more things can go wrong.... Just ask Tom.... LOL. I think your better off with a single big FMIC

well they would still be SMIC's, just brought to the front of the bumper, open and exposed, instead of in the engine bay..

Car Might handle differently ... your going to make it have a hell of a lot of drag with holes thatbig.. and the car isnt setup to handle the aerodynamics of it like that
