With all of the politically opinionated AF memebers out there, I am suprised that there are not any recent threads discussing Obama's (Pelosi's) stimulus bill. The recent economic collapse will likely be one of the biggest historical events of our lifetime. The promise of hope and change has turned into the rhetoric of dread and fear in an effort to gain the few Republican votes required to pass this "stimulus" bill before the self-imposed deadline of Feb. 16th.

Obama seems to beleive that government spending is an essential part of recovery. The eminent economists Milton Friedman, seems to disagree:

The economy is a complicated thing which few people can begin to completely understand, but the purpose of the stimulus bill is something we should not ignore.

Will the bill save the economy? If we dont act now, we will be too late to stop a depression? Is the bill an excuse for liberals to push through funding for their own partisan interests?

 

In my opinion, one president or one bill won't save anything. If someone believes it, then why IT didn't work in the past? Who would've thought Lehman Brothers go collapsed? I guess next 3 more years has to be a real severe pain before we even look at the glimpse of any *sign* of light...

 

I have talked about the Obama Spending bill over and over. Have you looked whats in the 600+ page spending bill? Well Obama and many others havent either but they want it passed asap.

Take a look at the bill and see all the crap the liberals want to pass....ie. like on page 42 giving criminals 240 Million so they have a fund to post bail without goin to a bail bonds so they have no recourse and can flee the country.
