There's been software out for a long time that can do it for you. However, people can spoof IP addresses. I used to have some tracking software and it would sometimes report backdoor trojan horse attacks from IP addresses in the Vatican or some tiny town of North Korea. I guess the end user could have actually been in those locations, but I doubt it.
