drilling hole in headlamps
i was telling my mechanic one day im putting hids on my car and he said to me when i do drill some small holes under my headlamps so some of the heat can escape,is that a wise thing to do?

no. Thats a bad idea. Your headlights will get water in them and look like **** and **** you off. S4's are HID and dont have holes in the housing. In fact, when we do the clear corner mod we drill holes in the headlight, then fill them with silicone so you dont get water in them.

Some kind of hard drug?
Even A4's have HIDs if you've got the option. The housing is the same... You will definitely be fine without holes.
Speed holes, on the other hand...

Glad somebody got the Simpsons reference!
And yeah, seriously, your mechanic IS dumb. I never really drew any big conclusions from your post... but yeah, if my mechanic ever said anything like that to me, I think it'd be enough for me to find a new mechanic. I'd seriously question whether you want to drop your car off at him ever again! Not that drilling holes in your headlight is going to cause an accident or anything... but he's definitely clueless.

he said that headlamps without vent holes traps heat thus why they turn foggy over time and to install hids its would speed up that process.it kinda mades sense to me but i dont feel comfortable drilling holes in my headlamps anyway
