Default Does anyone use Audacity or any other MP3 trimmer?

I am trying to download an MP3 trimmer such as Audacity, but when I go to their site, I keep getting directed to an "avs4u" MP3 editor. Does anyone use Audacity or any other free MP3 editor that can offer me assistance? I don't want to download random programs that contain viruses. Thanks for any help in advance, Mike

I was having trouble downloading it. Every link I clicked on sent me to a rnadom editor. I did just find the right page and downloaded it. Now that that's done, is it easy to use? Any hints or is it just highlight the section I want to record and hit "record"?

How are you able to record music off the Internet? I recorded a song for a radio station just to try it out, but wasn't about to save it as an MP3 due to some code it needed. Is it safe to download "LAME"? Is that where things with recording music start getting into a "dangerous" area?

Usually when Im trimming music I play it til I see the section I want then I look at the seconds on the bottom of the player. Stop the song then highlight that section. Use the edit function at the top and click cut or delete. it removes that part of the song. figure out about 30 seconds for the ringtone then highlight the rest of the song and cut that. convert it to whatever file it needs to be for the cell phone (for sprint its a .qcp file I need a seperate program for.)

To upload to your phone you have to find a site or a program that will upload the file to a temporary wap server. I use the focus uploader on sprintusers.com

That may work for other carriers I don't see why it wouldn't. But only way to know is to try.

Don't know if that helps at all. But maybe it will start ya in the right direction!. Good Luck!

you should download LAME, its small and no danger to you and comp.
While you open Internet radio station site, also open Audacity, check in second row that it doesnt states MICROPHONE (that would allow u to tape your talking) , but STEREO MIX ... then its easy..press red button (record)
Audacity will make this in his own .AUP format , which you can later change into MP3 or WAV file (open File )

it sound blurry, but its on/off setup .

p.s. if you want to record all night session dont forget to leave computer On , hehe
