hey sorry guys, i lost contact with john and karl at some point. they said there was a miscalculation with the distance and it would be way over a 1000 miles. i had to get home so i left bellingham around 745 and just now got home. im not sure where the guys are or if everybody else still met up.

i did meet up with sandnsnow24 though. we went and railed chuckanut dr. if you guys ever have a chance to hit that definetely go do it. there should be some video and some pics of our cars coming up later.

we are all good..

Grouse, we were going to call you to let you know what was going on.. but we didnt have your phone number.. [:@]

Somehow the calculations were off.. It was planned that 9 hours would be from Prince Rupert to the Park past the US border.. and 3 hours (5:30-8:30) would be from that point to the meet spot in Bellevue.. for a total of 12 hours driving. My math says that we would need an Overall speed (including stops and customs) to be at 83.3 MPH.. Well that is damn near impossible but we managed to get an overall speed of 75MPH (Including Stops and customs) which would take 13.3 hours to complete the 1000 Miles.. It was extremely hard because there were so many towns where the speed limit dropped to 35mph, and it was two lanes the entire way (with the exception of a few passing areas few and far between) Semi's were our worst nightmare and we encountered 100's of them, all struggling to make it up the steep hills that were on the road. We took chances and passed whenever we thought we might have better odds of surviving. The traffic and low speed limits, followed with the extremely sharp corners made it very hard to keep the speed average up. To top it off.. 900 of those miles were on the Candadian side (between our start point and the first meeting point) and 100miles on the US side. So those times were practically impossible. We had 9 hours to do 900 Miles.. Which gives us 100mph speed needed throughout everything on the roughest of conditions, not including stops, and border crossings. Then 3 hours to do 100 miles on the Open interstate (with a straight shot) which would mean a rate of 33.3mph... yeah the calculations were way off.. it was hard to call people because there was no cell phone service way out there where we were. I was unaware about the miles in Canada being 90% so my calculations were based on our average speed (miles traveled by total time) then minus the three hours for the last leg of it.. So our guess was that it would take us 10 hours from when we started to make it there (remember we were doing an average speed that made it a total travel time of 13.3 hours) We cleared customs at 9am (we lost an hour and a half due to time zone that was unaccounted for, and customs) so ten hours after 9am would make it so that we would be at the 1st meet point at 7pm (if you subtract the 1.5 hours we lost we would have been there at exactly 5:30) well that didnt turn out at all, once again because 900 of the miles were in canada. So i needed not subtract 3 hours from the total time. I hope this all makes sense to everyone if anyone needs any clarification just say so.. and sorry we couldnt make it out on time [:@]

Glad to hear you made it.

Did you have a good time?

Did you get a lot of questions because of the decals?
