In this thread, create your dream car/ultimate A4 that will put BMW out of business. What would this car require in terms of:

1. Performance and handling

2. Standard features and options

3. Interior materials and interior quality

*2 things*

1. This car MUST put BMW out of business.

2. Everything must be cost-effective and Audi MUST make a good-sized profit per car sold.

 

Not happening. BMW's 3 is too good.
concerning features/options, interior quality, audi has had BMW beat for a while.
Performance wise / driving pleasure, you're not going to beat a 335i with a 4wd Turbo4 platform. Audi would pretty much have to copy the 3 and go from there.
Another reason this won't happen is because Audi's profit margins are considerably more than BMW (I think of all German companies only Porsche has a higher profit)

Hell, my dad has a 535I (E90) and that thing is more fun to drive hard than my TT.
My next car will be RWD and most probably a Bimmer.
Keep in mid that this is all from an enthusiast point of view, If they make it flashy enough so plenty of sheeple buy it, it might work.

 

Considering putting BMW out of business w/ ONE car is completely impossible, this thread gets the official stamp of FAIL.

 

Unless audi starts making cars with rwd, a flat six and biturbos it ain't happening. Who would want to see bmw go out of business. Fail.

First of all, no I don't want to see BMW go out of business.

Second, this is a design exercise. Of course it's not going to happen. I meant creating an A4 that would come as close as possible to doing so.

 

the new v6 S4 should be pretty damn nice.

 

why would you want to drive someone out of business? aside from the fact that bmw helps audi prices stay where they are due to competition, the jobs they supply, and the AMAZING cars bmw makes? dont get me wrong, i love my audi, but i also loved my bmw. everyone pulls this audi>bmw or audi<bmw... my view audi = bmw.

3 series vs a4?
5 series vs a6?
7 series vs a8?
mk1 tt vs z3?
mk2 tt vs z4?
s5 vs m6?

list goes on and on, and i guarantee anyone here would take any of those cars

 

As I said earlier, I don't really want to see BMW go out of business. This is just a design exercise. Something like a "what if?" kind of thing.
