Default Considering a A4 powered Lotus

Looking at SCCA X prepared class rules and considering alternative drivetrains for my Lotus Europa, I noticed that an A4 has the engine and transmission correctly oriented for the swap. I know that the engines can be made to make plenty of power, but will the front drive automatic transmission handle the power[ I prefer an automatic to reduce the complexity of the swap]. The car would be class legal with at a weight just under 1600lbs. The Lotus currently weighs about 1560lbs in full street trim, so legal weight should be easily attained. What kind computer controls would be needed to run this setup? Is a limited slip differential available for the front wheel drive transmission? And, what kind of costs am I looking at for a reliable 300+ horsepower setup[ emission controls are not an issue]?

300hp is cake, do some searching for elim turbo kit for the 1.8t engine. you'll be using stock internals too. also if you search on the lotus forum, there's a few 1.8t powered Lotus out there. i don't think there's an LSD for our cars though.

I want to do something very similar but the Audi FWD trans upgraded a lot w/ tip mode still in a 1988 Fiero GT w/ an STi engine lol. I'm probably crazy.
