External HDD is the only way to go.. i had to do the same thing. But i backed up [sm=gobble.gif]

 

i know, i need an external for sure....i had my hdd partitioned, and usually you can format one partition and leave the other unchanged...but i have a laptop, and i had to use the recovery cds...so it erased my partition....12 gigs of music, 6 gigs of movies, and probably about 2 grand in cracked programs...i was pissed...
