This car was special ordered because the belt trim is carbon fiber. Somebody sat down and said, "You know, I can live with bass-less sound, but I can't live without a couple swatches of carbon fiber. No, Audi, I'll wait for THAT car." Who was this madman?!



I played with it and found out that the sound is worst with XM radio, which I guess is to be expected. With a CD it's better, but still not very dynamic. The sound itself is crisp and nice, but it doesn't fill the cabin at any volume, you know? Ah, well. I guess if that's the worst thing about this car, I'll manage.

If I ever change the HU, it'll be to install RNS-E, but that's not likely any time soon.

Yes i have performed that TSB before, it will disable the TSB, but it still sounds like crap with subs in there. If Sine wants to put in an RNS-E unit, she might as well not put in sub and upgrade the speakers and use a 4 channel amp to power those, that will make it sound more like a Bose system.

 

function of sat. radio it seems (compression?). I've noticed this with Sirius in the TT, with a portable sat. receiver run into the cars Bose system.

Its like the difference between listening to a low quality mp3 vs a high quality one.
